Ten years ago, Louth Playgoers staged Darling… Have You Seen My Structural Surveys?, a brand-new comedy from John Hewer that went from Scratch Night reading to a roaring success on the Riverhead stage. As we celebrate another New Writing Scratch Night this September, we look back at the show’s journey and its place in our history.

Every September, a brand-new Louth Playgoers season begins at Louth Riverhead Theatre, and with it comes a carefully chosen line-up of plays, musicals and, of course, a pantomime. But how do those shows actually get picked? We sat down with this year’s President, Derek Smith, to find out what goes into shaping the season.
